Something that I’ve rarely let out online: I’m gay. Actually it’s something that I’ve rarely let out anywhere, but since I’m getting married in February, (the 14th, to be exact) it’s something that I have to get used to people knowing. I’m marrying my friend of 25 years, FINALLY. No, we don’t live somewhere that grants ‘same-sex’ marriage licenses, but there are other ways of making our union legal. We just can’t afford to move to New Hampshire….

So the greatest thing I’ve done in 2006 is get engaged.

After reading all the stories about him and how thoughtful, and kind, and sincere, and intelligent, and spiritual, and everything else he is, who wouldn’t want to meet him?

She’s one of the most open and honest talk show hosts I’ve seen; and her comedy series is one show that I can watch all the way through. Besides, she’s just plain funny!!

You do the things you set out to do, and seems like you don’t give up just because it may take a little while….You have patience.

We seem to have a lot in common; writing a book, going to Ethiopia, learning Amharic, these are all things that I am dying to do, and I’d love to talk with someone who has done them.

I wasn’t sure if I should check “Why I want to meet” or “Why I admire”; they’re both about the same I guess! LOL
I would love to meet you because you seem so real, and I admire your ability to travel as you do. As much as I want to travel, being a woman on my own frightens me a bit. I’d hate to get into a strange country and unknowingly cause an international incident or something because I’ve violated another country’s laws. There are so many things that women have to watch out for in some countries.
I would so love to see some of the places you’ve been, and since I can’t, I would love to talk with you about them.
